Arts Gateway Program

The Arts Gateway program provides mentorship and financial assistance to young artists who are interested in or actively pursuing careers in the arts. Due to financial barriers, many young artists from underserved communities, do not have access to the guidance and financial resources that are necessary to enhance their development as artists. By bridging the gap between lack of access and opportunity, the Arts Gateway program makes it possible for young artists to freely pursue their artistic goals.

Financial assistance for summer intensives.

Each year young artists audition for the opportunity to study and enhance their artistic skills with national and international arts institutions that offer artistic summer intensive training. Many students who are accepted into summer intensives are unable to attend because they lack the funds needed to cover program and tuition fees.

By providing need-based funding through the Arts Gateway program, Gift Hearts ensures that young artists are able to access the summer intensive training needed to enhance their artistic growth and development.

Grants for college tours and application fees.

Paying college application fees and costs associated with touring potential colleges can become a burden for students and their families. The Arts Gateway program provides need-based grants that cover the costs of those expenses for graduating high school seniors who are entering college/university as arts majors.

"The arts are not just a nice thing to have or to do if there is free time or if one can afford it. Rather, paintings and poetry, music and fashion, design and dialogue, they all define who we are as a people and provide an account of our history for the next generation."
